Fire assay is typically used for samples suspected to have coarse deposits. Pulverized samples are screened where the passing and non-passing sample sizes are assayed separately.
When it is determined that samples may contain coarse gold nugget, it is necessary to expand the fire assay testing to a larger sample of material. The process accounts for the coarse portion of a sample to encompass any gold nuggets for a more representative value.
Instrumental analysis for the determination of carbon, particularly preg robbing organic carbon, and sulfur/refractory sulfides
Instrumental analysis mainly used to determine composition of carbons and sulfuric compounds.
